In 1995, an Interfin partnership acquired the Westside site: 757 acres of land in the heart of rapid growing West Houston. It is located on the Katy Freeway (I-10 West) between Mason Road and the Grand Parkway. Situated among some of Houston's most desirable communities (Williamsburg, Cinco Ranch, Cimmarron and the town of Katy) the development site is large enough to accommodate a large retail center, restaurants, as well as office, specialty retail, warehouse distribution facilities and multi-family residential.
Adjoining this site, Interfin developed a Cinemark Tinseltown 19-screen movie theatre, with 4,000 seats and approximately 1,400 parking spaces. The theatre and some adjoining land were later sold to New Quest Properties in 2007.
In 2004, Interfin donated 35 acres for the building of Pope John XXIII Catholic High School and also sold 40 acres to Memorial Hermann Hospital System for the development of a hospital and professional office building.
Also in 2007 approximately 11.9 acres was sold to Blazer to build an independent living center, 33.6 acres was sold to Pathfinder Energy and 53.2 acres was sold to Kickerillo and Sueba to build a multi-family and residential development.
82 acres of the land owned by Interfin was developed into Westside Office Park. The first building under construction was Duke Realty's building for Det Norske Veritas which opened in February 2009. The second building under development was SafeKick, which opened in 2011. The remaining land was sold in 2012 to various end users for development. |
